E-mail section is truly accessible. I asked a cohort of mine how he handled Blackboard when he was in school and he replied: "Made allot of sighted friends." Another told me that they had some success using only the arrow keys for navigation. However, I discovered that they were using a different system instead of Blackboard. Jimmy

outlook 2010 issues

Morning,
I have a computer here that I just installed windows 7, Jaws 13 and office 2010 on. When in the outlook list view and when I delete a message either with the delete key or ctrl-d there is a very long pause and for a moment I will get a outlook is not responding message. Are you meaning that jaws isn't working with the Word XP or with the whole Windows 7? If its the whole Windows 7, is the version of jaws you have high enough for it? I mean, I think you need jaws 10 at least for win 7. If its the Word, as far as I've heard the new jaws doesn't support old office suites properly? Sorry I can't help you further, maybe you'll have to wait for sighted help, but strange jaws doesn't perform properly. Maybe also try restart and see if it works better, or try with NVDA. Ari

Although I have not used it my partenr and her friends are using it every night to chat whilst playing games etc. Seems to work really well. Not sure how much setting it up it takes though.

Windows 7 Word XP Jaws HELP

Hi,
I'm trying to get things going with my Windows 7 computer. , Jaws doesn't read it, except very sporadically. By that, I mean occasionally you hear a country. If anyone has a suggestion to try I would welcome it. Otherwise, I will have to wait for sighted assistance. I've been looking for any help on what might make Windows 7 work better with Jaws. Crystal I have Word XP installed, but need to activate it. On the page that wants to know the country, which is a combo box, I can not get Jaws to read the selection. I can not use down arrow after pressing enter. If I use alt plus down arrow to show the list

more accessible, you will be provided the blackboard link to your school by your school, and if you go there you will be required to sign in with your username and password also assigned by your school. The easiest way to nevigate it in my opinion is using the letter (H) which will have jaws read off headings. For instance, announcements is one of the headings, under this heading, any announcements from your enrolled courses would show up here. There's also an organization one, that's if you're enrolled in any and then you have the courses heading which will list your classes. Press enter on your class and you will be taken to its homepage. Then I like to use the letter (L) giving you lists and on my page its the fourth one that will give you areas you can visit on your specific class page such as syllabus, content (which will have readings and stuff unless your professor creates more categories) and once you click on what area you desire, jaws might stay where you clicked, but be assured that the category has shown up at the bottom of the page so you can use the letter (H) to get to that section. I believe this is a lot for now, but take it easy and if you have more questions over time, don't hesitate to ask. Goodluck!

I use avast for virus protection.
It is becoming almost totally inaccessible. Also, I have been getting some kind of weird error when I try to open the program to run a scan; yet, it says my system is secure. It also loads updates every time I am logged in. Any thoughts? Deb Ver Steeg
