Re: Netflix Scripting from DoItBlind
Cristóbal
Along with the descriptive audio now being provided with Netflix originals, this is much welcomed progress.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
The one feature I would really like, is the ability to sync two separate feeds for simultaneous viewing. I.E. if you and a sighted companion or companions wish to watch something together, one feed could be the normal one and the second feed could be the audio described version. Throwing on some headphones like in the theatre and still being able to enjoy a film or series with description with privacy would be a major plus. I guess the ideal solution would be some sort of iOS or other portable set up with a mobile device or with bluetooth headphones, but I'd even be happy with stringing some headphones to a laptop just to have this ability. Even getting one of those cheapy Windows tablets and a bluetooth headset for more flexibility could be an option. I don't know if something like this could even be possible. I could only imagine that access would need to be granted to the secondary device's microphone. Similar to how iOS apps function. I do recall reading a few months ago an article regarding a Chrome add on that enabled the synchronizing of two Netflix feeds for family and friends and long distance relationship viewing. It supposedly took out the hassel of always trying to manually syncing feeds by counting down and allowed folks to pause and rewind and fast forward seemlessly without losing synchronization. Anyway... one can hope.

Locking down the volume will take sighted assistance. But I got full screen working in case you are entertaining. There are other controls to this thing such as the play pause button that I need sighted assistance for too. It is coming along nicely. One thing I am experimenting with is the ability to view all the playable movies in a single list such as the virtual viewer or probably the results viewer more liekly since it supports more than links. There is a ton of stuff you can do with this thing. Few years back and some programming knowledge learned, it wasn't possible. Now it is within our reach finally. The language selector is a group box that is readily viewable and also subtitles can be controlled too. Re: Windows 10 question
Hi, Press Windows+Pause to open System settings, then use JAWS cursor to read the screen contents (one of them should say “Windows Edition”). You can keep using JAWS 17, but I heard reports that it might be necessary to repair your JAWS installation. The express settings turns on several features, including sending certain data to Microsoft to improve your Windows 10 experience. I and other Windows 10 users recommend not using express settings when installing Windows 10 (we did have a discussion about this on the Windows 10 list, which can be found at http://groups.io/g/win10). Cheers, Joseph

I think I know what the problem is. The keys identified in this mode are specific to the application that is in focus. So, to check the mouseover keys, make sure your browser is in focus before pressing JAWS key-1. In fact, it might be advisable to be in IE. I’ve never tried mouseover in Chrome or Firefox, although it should work there, too.
