I am using jaws 11 and windows 7 64 bit. When on webpages I get jaws saying blank for every line that I arrow through to get to the next line. I went into say all options and say blank lines is not checked. Is there something else that I am missing?

MS-Outlook is the best, although expensive. Very accessible, highly

Chris Smart <csmart8@...>

it's spelled Linux.
Try this:
http://tinyurl.com/c6xsyjj
Past the first search result are some good ones.

As for Blindtech, one way to subscribe to yahoo groups is by sending a blank email to
listname-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
where listname is obviously the name of the list you want to join.
Or, log into the Yahoo Groups site and do a search for blindtech.

The you can has them how to sign up, and what their group website is.

Hello,

following questions other than using this list, so this is why I have
the following questions for the list, sorry that I am off topic with
this E-mail. If I can, I would please like to know how I can subscribe
to a mailing list or different mailing lists that is specifically for
questions about using different voice software, not only jaws, with
different computer programs and with different operating systems, such
as the Linox operating system platform not just window based operating
systems and programs. Any info help I can maybe get on how to
subscribe to such a list would be so very much appreciated. Much thanks in
advance for any help with this.

Also please, I would like to know how to subscribe to the

can subscribe to this list, their great help will be so very much
appreciated.

Thanks muchly.

Jim,
Instead of adjusting in word, change the format while you're in your
web browser. Press JAWS key+v for JAWS quick settings, then arrow
down to "virtual cursor options." The first pair of choices under
that heading is for selecting and copying. From what you write, you
have it set to copy the page the way it appears . Press the spacebar
on that setting to bring up "select and copy from virtual cursor."
With that selection, any copy you make from a webpage will go into
your Word document with your Word formatting intact.

Heya folks,
I often copy and paste text from certain websites to my word
document. Am using Jaws 13 and Microsoft word 2002 on an XP home PC.
Just recently whether its particular websites I don't know when I
paste text to my word am getting words spread letter by letter down
the page e.g the word newspaper for example N E W S P A P E R
As you can imagine this gets very frustrating when it comes to
reading text that I want to save etc The only thing that fixes it
slightly is under format in word 2002 settings is clicking
autoformat but this doesn't fix it completely and copying and pasting
text isn't as much fun as I once experienced.
I've gone thru my Jaws 13 word settings and turned off graphics but
please if there's any configuration or options I need to change to
help me continue my pasting important info from the web to my word
document any help will be appreciated.
Cheers,
Jim

Re: Jaws 13 and MS Word 2002

Jim,

Instead of adjusting in word, change the format while you're in your web
browser. Press JAWS key+v for JAWS quick settings, then arrow down to
"virtual cursor options." The first pair of choices under that heading is
for selecting and copying. From what you write, you have it set to copy the
page the way it appears . Press the spacebar on that setting to bring up
"select and copy from virtual cursor." With that selection, any copy you
make from a webpage will go into your Word document with your Word
formatting intact.

Heya folks,

I often copy and paste text from certain websites to my word document. Am
using Jaws 13 and Microsoft word 2002 on an XP home PC.

Just recently whether its particular websites I don't know when I paste text
to my word am getting words spread letter by letter down the page e.g the
word newspaper for example N E W S P A P E R

As you can imagine this gets very frustrating when it comes to reading text
that I want to save etc The only thing that fixes it slightly is under
format in word 2002 settings is clicking autoformat but this doesn't fix it
completely and copying and pasting text isn't as much fun as I once
experienced.

I've gone thru my Jaws 13 word settings and turned off graphics but please
if there's any configuration or options I need to change to help me continue
my pasting important info from the web to my word document any help will be
appreciated.

Cheers,

Jim

Hey Ari,

Thanks for your reply. That's disappointing news to hear, but not entirely
unexpected. From what I can tell, OneNote has a fairly visually-oriented
interface, which is not something that is going to be easily accessible for
anyone who is visually impaired. I'll try the other magnification software
you suggested and see if that has any of the same issues Zoomtext was
having when I ran the program.

I'm definitely still interested to know if anyone else has had any success
with JFW and OneNote or knows of some combination of programs that might
work. If it's not JFW related and hence not list related, feel free to PM
me.

Cheers,
Will

Re: OneNote

Hi, Will.
There's a list of keyboard shortcuts in the OneNote Help. I'm using JFW13's
most recent update--won't touch 14 till it's more stable, and I find that
JFW doesn't work very well with OneNote's ribbons, though it works fine with
other Microsoft Office apps. Maybe the keyboard shortcuts will help you move
a little further with the program.
HTH,
Dani

Hi Wil
For me, I've never managed to use JFW with one note properly. I am
thinking, since you have a bit of sight, how about you try use it with
something like Supernova magnifier from Dolphin or maybe FS MAGic? If
you use it for short periods of time, then you can use the demos of
these programs instead of having to buy them.
Sorry, but I really don't know if my answers helped you much at all,
but all I know is I've never been able to use this with jaws properly,
so I don't bother.

Hello everyone,

I have a question about JFW and Microsoft OneNote. I will admit I am not a
very experienced Jaws user, so if this is an extremely easy fix I apologize
in advance for a dumb question.

I'm very interested in using OneNote for school, however I keep running
into accessibility issues. I'm partially sighted and still use Zoomtext a
lot, but apparently the combination of Zoomtext and OneNote is too much for
computers to bear, as several have consistantly frozen up on me and
required forced shutdowns. I also use JFW, particularly for reading long
passages, and thought that maybe I could access OneNote with Jaws. When I
tried, Jaws could read the main page fairly well, but could not navigate to
any of the tabs or other controls I was trying to reach (add new page, new
section, etc). I tried accessing the command list and software help for
Jaws and OneNote, and basically got the message that Jaws did not recognize
the program.

Has anyone else used OneNote successfully with Jaws, and if so, how? Do I
need a script? I know I could not write one myself, so if I do need one
where might I find one?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Will
