Hi, Tracy. I don't know of any way to convert an audio mp3 file to text. It would take a very sophisticated audio analysis program to do that, and I don't know if one is available for the PC.

Thank you.

Good afternoon list:

is it possible to convert an MP3 file to a doc file in Windows XP or Windows 7 with Jaws 12? If yes, how would I do that?

Thanks in advance.

Unless they've changed it (my copy is a bit long in the tooth now),
WinDVD is good. It's been a popular OEM, but can also be purchased over
the counter.

I have an alva satelite 80 display at work running the latest version
of
jaws 13 on a windows 7 32 bit machine.
For some reason I can't get the braille display to respond.
Should one install the braille display first then ad the display to
JAWS
are there some new drivers I need or what would someone suggest?
Thanks

I gave it a quick try and I don't get any errors/messages.
Jaws sees two check boxes and they both work as expected.

My client is getting a "undefined checkbox" when they test a page with JAWS. I work remotely and do not have access to JAWS 13. They gave me their code and I wrote a static html page but theirs is dynamic, with javascript closely resembling theirs.
<html>
<body>
<form>
<table>
<tr>
<th nowrap="true" align="left" title="Select All">Select<input type="checkbox" onClick="for (i = 0; i < this.form.elements.length ; i++){if (this.form.elements[i].name=='selected'){ this.form.elements[i].checked = this.checked;}}
"/></th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="valueListRow0" >
<input type="checkbox" title="Select Item Number 368456708" name="selected" value="0" >
</td>
</tr>
</table>
<form>
</body>
</html>

I would like to know if some one with JAWS could try this out and see if it gives the same error and am also wondering if one can put a input type="checkbox" inside a <th> tag.

Thank you

While your cursor is on the attachment, not the message, go to the

But you can just copy/paste the file name instead.

Anybody know an easy way to find and open these? The Applications key
no longer works (of course not, it was simple and logical). I don't
want to start a big thread, and wake up the flame throwers, but if
anyone has an easy solution, either on or off list, I'd appreciate
hearing from you.

Re: Jaws commands

Jon Pierson <joncpierson@...>

Hi Ann,
In Windows7 you can find it at:

C:\ProgramData\Freedom Scientific\JAWS\13.0\SETTINGS\enu

The file is:

Windows Live Messenger 8.jdf

If you could find the dictionary file and save it, you would have a
reference. Mine seems to be hiding, though.

Hi Robert,
I imagine you could paste with the afore-mentioned command into a chat
or something in Windows Live Messenger and then cut/copy to the
clipboard for use elsewhere.
It's not pretty and having this facility of JFW available in other
places would be helpful, much as the command Jawskey plus Numrow 4 is
so handy in pasting and copying those hard to type special symbols.

Hello Jon,
So, what if a person wants to do this in their e-mails, such as sending
an e-mail from their gmail account.
Thanks,

Hi Robert,
Sorry about that, I meant Windows Live Messenger, not the email
program.

Hello Jon,
So, do you mean the e-mail client, when you say the messenger.
Also, once you find the emottocon you want, do you just press enter on
it.
Thanks,

Hi,
From within the messenger program, press control plus shift plus the
letter M to bring up the list of emoticons which you can then insert.

altrnatively, open your messenger program and press insert-d to get
access to the dictionary file. There is a list of emoticons and the
equivalent words to go with them.

Hi.
To my knowledge, JFW doesn't have specific commands for either
emoticons or acronyms used in chat--you know, like bff or ttyl. But
you can google using search phrases like "emoticons" or "chat acronyms"
and get a ton of stuff.
Just memorize what you use most often. Typing them in isn't all that
hard.

Hello All,
I sent an e-mail the other day, but have not seen any replies, so I
thought I would send another e-mail.
I am wondering, if anyone can tell me how to do the following when
using Jaws 13 with Windows 7.
I am working with gmail in my e-mail, and when I press the delete key
for anything, it will not announce at all, the key is silent.
Also, I have tried insert f 12 and I only get the time, and it used to
give the time and date.
I want to place smiley face, or different things like that in my e-mail
message, and I am wondering how I do that.
Thanks,

Robert Stigile
