When the CAPS LOCK KEY is used as the JAWS key, either by making the change in the Default Settings Manager or, by changing the JAWS keyboard layout to Laptop keyboard layout, pressing the CAPS LOCK KEY, twice quickly, will turn on or off Caps Lock function.

Handwise, it sounds convenient using the caps key as the JAWS key.

However, doesn't this complicate capitalizing things? or am I missing
something?
