Sorry to belabor this point, but I know of at least one website where F5 doesn't remove the new data. Don't ask me to explain how it could be. But I'd like to emphasize that the first thing to do is use the JAWS key-escape JAWS semi-refresh. Someone more techy than I can elaborate, but all this command does is arrange the data for JAWS to recognize. As far as I can tell, it doesn't alter the data in any way. -- My novel Caroline is now available in paperback, Kindle and audiobook versions and, for qualified readers in the US, at the National Library Service/BARD. It might also have an effect on the screen itself, I'm not sure if it does or not. The problem the OP had was specifically in a form field, so refreshing the webpage and killing the form data would remove the error, but then she'd have to start over again, and *still* not know what the error is. -----Original Message----- From: main@jfw.groups.io <main@jfw.groups.io> On Behalf Of Adrian Spratt Sent: July 11, 2022 06:20 PM To: main@jfw.groups.io Subject: Re: Website error messages Quite right, JM. that's why I suggest using the JAWS refresh-like command before resorting to F5. With the JAWS command, you don't lose data. At any rate, I never have. -- My novel Caroline is now available in paperback, Kindle and audiobook versions and, for qualified readers in the US, at the National Library Service/BARD. You might or might not get a warning about this, depending on the webpage and how it's designed. -----Original Message----- From: main@jfw.groups.io <main@jfw.groups.io> On Behalf Of Adrian Spratt Sent: July 11, 2022 05:20 PM To: main@jfw.groups.io Subject: Re: Website error messages Barbara, When this happens to me, I use the JAWS version of screen refresh by pressing JAWS key-escape. If that doesn't work, try the Windows F5 refresh followed by the same Jaws key combo. -- My novel Caroline is now available in paperback, Kindle and audiobook versions and, for qualified readers in the US, at the National Library Service/BARD.
