I usually use the enter key to expend the menu. Is there a difference between using the space bar or the return key?

Hi, all, I was on a website with one of those lovely overlays. This is a website for buying supplements and such, and it does show a search button, but it says “button collapsed.” I have tried all I know to get it opened to be “expanded” so I can use it to search and nothing happens.
