Wow, that did it. Thank you!
As long as I do insert z prior to arrowing to the message I want to delete, I can then press e to edit it, or the delete key to delete it.
I had also been trying to find how to page up through messages that had scrolled off the screen, and now see that the page up
key works if I do insert z first.

Did you try turning off the JAWS virtual cursor (insert z)?
Yes, I did try those, but so far, no luck. Thanks.
Can you try shiftf10 or the application key? Maybe it will work, with Slack you never really know.
Can anyone using Slack tell me how to delete a message that I have previously placed in a Slack chat using JAWS and the keyboard? The Slack keyboard shortcuts say that if you are focused on a message you can hit delete, or E for edit, but those do nothing when I have tried.
I know there is an icon to the right of each message with three dots next to it where you can bring up a delete choice on a menu, but I can’t seem to get to it without trying to find it with the mouse.
Thanks for any help.
