In Deb’s particular situation, it was the Favorites view that was on, and it needed to be switched to the folders view. In the View tab of the Outlook ribbon, there is a pull-down to set the favorites view, the folders view, or both. You can reach this area by pressing Alt, v, then f one after the other. CTRL+6 is the keyboard command in Outlook which, when pressed, will Switch the focus to the Folder list in the Folder pane.

Re: how to bring back hidden folders in outlook
It almost sounds like you are only seeing folders in your favorites section. In newer versions of Outlook, there is a favorites tree that usually has Inboxe, and 1 or two other folders. Then below this, there is a more hierarchical folder list with each account at the top level and an alphabetical list of all folders under that which can be collapsed and expanded with left/right arrow keys.
As far as I know there is no distinct advantage to the favorites area unlike in MacOS, where command-1 brings you to the first item in the favorites and command-2 brings you to the second one. If anybody can find an equivalent in JAWS or Outlook, that would be of interest.
In the newer Outlook, Shift+F6 moves you to the tree view of folders. Honestly, I am not sure this is the nature of the problem you are raising here. Is it that you can’t see any folders or only some of them?
Yes. And it was right there when I opened outlook.
How did you access them before? Did you Shift Tab to the tree view?

I use a windows 7 laptop with the version before the latest update of jaws.
I use a USB keyboard connected to the laptop.
Anyway, the last few days many of my folders in outlook 2013 are hidden.
I used control Y and found they are still there but do not pop up as usual when I open outlook.
The Microsoft disability answer desk person says it is because they are being hidden by some browser messages which I do not hear or find anywhere.
How do I remove these messages so I do not have to do a control Y every time I want to open a folder such as deleted items, drafts, junkmail, and so forth.
Confused in South Dakota.
I have a brand new laptop which I will begin using in a few days.
But I am keeping this one as I have downloaded at least 14 unread books in my audible account that I want to keep.
See the below link for “Wave Apps.” Although I have not used it personally, I understand that it is accessible. Also, its basic functionality is free.
Hello everyone, I am looking for recommendations for accessible accounting software to use with my business. At the moment, I am doing it through Excel spreadsheets. Looking for something that can be possibly collaborated on with in a team Setting.
