I think it depends on the content of the web page.
sometimes I land where I was and other times I don't.
But it isn't difficult for me to find where I was, either by jumping by heading, or remembering a couple words where I left off and use the find command.

He shouldn’t if he copies the URL after pressing alt-d. Depending on the browser, press F6 twice (MS Edge) or three times (Chrome) to return to that same spot on the webpage.

That is what I usually do, but Mark indicated that when he does this, he loses his place on the web page.

In addition to the JAWS insert-a solutions, you could press insert-d to bring the address into Windows focus, then control-c to copy it. In my case, I then paste the result into Notepad where I can read and edit it.

anyone know fast ways to get the hostname from the url field of the browser?  if I move the focus to the url field and read word by word, i lose my spot in the document
