And maybe if this list didn't have an absentee owner/moderator, there wouldn't be so much complaining about threads that drift off topic and turn into chit chat discussions that have nothing to do with JAWS.  If the owner/moderator doesn't want to bother moderating this list, then he should turn it over to somebody who will.

Did you even bother reading the concern, which has now been expressed by three of us (at least)?:  "A lot of us could miss something that may be helpful to us if all of you would write a new post with the correct subject line. This is really frustrating, as I assume the subject line fits the message, which it doesn't anymore. Please stop this."

It's actually considered rude not to give accurately descriptive titles, which this one was at the outset, when NEW topics are spun-off of an existing one.

This is not new, it is not difficult, and it should be standard practice to start a new topic when you know you're actually doing just that, and giving it a title that's reflective of the actual content.

This is not an, "I'm tired of this topic, please stop!!," complaint, which should be met with precisely what you said, "Mute it."   It's concern that this particular topic has now covered a number of completely unrelated ones that could very well be of interest to the membership, many of whom may have already muted this particular topic long ago.

It is the function of creative men to perceive the relations between thoughts, or things, or forms of expression that may seem utterly different, and to be able to combine them into some new forms--the power to connect the seemingly unconnected.
