In my opinion: It would be best to upgrade your windows version as soon as it is feasible, because: Eventually, neither versions of Jaws or windows will be supported, and it will be more difficult to obtain adequate technical support; if something should go wrong. It happened to me regarding windows xp. I was happy as a clam running windows xp; Till something happened to the Jaws version I was running at the time. I called Freedom Scientific technical support to fix my particular problem. As soon as they heard the version of Windows and Jaws I was running, they said they weren’t able to assist me. After I upgraded to Windows 10, things changed quick smart. I found myself needing help from Microsoft technical support. I got it immediately; and was up and running in no time.

So if you have only the yearly subscription, you are screwed as far as Jaws goes, because if you want to use a perfectly fine windows, your yearly subscription will stop working, and you cannot just get a new yearly subscription for your older windows.
