Microsoft recommended, years ago now, that users NOT use the old built-in utility to take system images, and maintained it only in an "as is" state.  The following announcement, made back when Windows 10, Version 1709 appeared, makes this clear.  You use the old Backup & Restore at your own risk, as deprecated features can be pulled pretty much without further warning (though you will often get it, but not always).
