Michelle, Follow the official Humanware instructions listed on the site below to install their official Brailliant drivers. As previously mentioned, I would check for a firmware update too.
All the best.

Hi Michelle and Jonathan,
I am deafblind. I have no issue with my braille display starting at login, provided it is connected by USB. Sometimes the Bluetooth protocol is slow at connecting at login. I don’t know about speech as I cannot hear.
Secondly, the Brailiant BI 32 as far as I am aware does not support HID Protocol. I strongly suggest selecting another option.
If that doesn’t work my next step would be to check to see if the COM Port has been set correctly in Device Manger. To do this press the WIN Key and type in Device Manger and hit ENTER. When the Device Manger has opened press TAB once. Now down arrow to “Port (COM & LPT) then Right Arrow. Right click on the COM Port listed in JAWS. It could say something like COM 4. Then press ENTER. Then navigate to “Update driver”, then select the option to "Browse my Computer". On the next screen, are probably a number of options to choose from but the one that works best for me was "USB Serial Device". Once selected click OK to confirm your selection.
If you are still having trouble please email me off list and I’ll endeavour to help you with this issue.
To do this press the WIN Key and type “Device Manager”
The only suggestion I have tis to check the firmware version of your Brailliant bi. The Humanware software used to install drivers also has a button to upgrade the firmware. You do need to be connected via USB.
Best of luck!
