My personal experience has been with Brother and Epson printers. Both have desktop apps that are accessible. Interfaces on unit are not. Also, my current Brother unit and Windows 10 communicate well even without using the app. Brother has advantage of using very little ink if you only print couple of times per week however Epson’s advantage is speed.
