Re: JAWS blocke Windows Media Player so I not canhearprotectedWMA-files

Lisle, Ted (CHFS DMS)

It's been my experience that Media Player is virtually worthless for
DVD's anyway. Clicking, banging, cursing, praying--more than half the
time I can't even get the darn thing to start! I second the notion of
having a handy backup, although my choice might be Thunder, which is
available in a thumb-drive version.

Dave,
I don't think adding another sound card would help, at least in some
cases of JAWS interference with Media Player. See my other message for
examples.

Suggest adding an audio card to use with music and only use the
Realtech for JAWS.

Hi again

Yes, I using the same sound card for both Windows Media Player and
JAWS.
If
I playing other file types via Windows Media Player (e.g. a WAV-file),
Windows Media Player fine will play the sound, also when I open the
file
directly via Windows Explorer.

On one of my other computers I not have these problem, so therefore I
not
understand what happend on the computer where I have the problem.

The computer where I have the problem running Windows 7 64-bit, and
the
computer have a motherboard from ASUS (ASUS P8H67-M REV3 DDR3 Intel
H67)
with a integrated sound card from Realtek.

I using the latest drivers to the sound card.

If you have other solutions I can tried, please let me know.

Very thanks.

Anders

Anders,

Are you using the same sound card for both JAWS and your music output?
Perhaps you need to install a separate sound card on that machine for
WMP
to

use.

Subject: JAWS blocke Windows Media Player so I not can hear protected
WMA-files

Hi everyone

On one of my computers running Windows 7 64-bit, I experience that
JAWS
blocke sound from Windows Media Player, so I not can hear protected
WMA-files.

If I first unloading JAWS, open the protected WMA-file via Windows
Explorer
and after that start JAWS again, Windows Media Player fine will play
the
protected WMA-files.

If I first has opened the protected file, I fine can stop and start
the
playing - but if I unload Windows Media Player, I again first must
unload
JAWS before I can open a new protected WMA-file.

Has any person heard about this problem before, and have a solution I
can
tried?

I have tested with JAWS 12 and 13.

If you have other questions, please let me know.

Very thanks, and have a continued Easter.

Regards
Anders
