Hi Glenn, It seems that the other day, Spectrum, which is my TV telephone, and internet service provider, Made a change where when you go too a channel or movie that has DVS, When you go too make that selection for DVS, Now it only says turn SAP on or off. In other words, We won’t be able too tell, whether or not the program that you want too watch, has DVS. You’ll just by turning on the SAP function. guess

Talk with them about audio description, sounds like if they are new, they might pay more attention. HTH, Richard Software means never having to say you're finished Web site: www.turner42.com Yeah, I'm about to ditch them anyway. They are discontinuing eMail service to its customers, and there is a new game in town, Allo communications, and they provide eMail, but now that I have had to switch everything to a new name.com eMail, I would not need it from Allo, but they are less expensive than Sparklight, and I've talked to them about accessible boxes for our TVs. ----- Original Message ----- Sent: Saturday, June 12, 2021 11:26 AM Subject: Re: audio description Try, for what it might be worth, contacting your local provider. Maybe you will find someone who cares about customer service. Richard Software means never having to say you're finished Web site: www.turner42.com I've complained to the FCC about it, and never heard back, they said they would look into it. ----- Original Message ----- Sent: Saturday, June 12, 2021 11:22 AM Subject: Re: audio description Glen, This may also be your provider. I have an old gripe with Xfinity and Oregon Public Broadcasting, (OPB). Many shows that are broadcast have Audio Description, unless you are trying to access it through Xfinity and OPB combined. That same show, broadcast at the same time, in another state, has audio description; but not here. OPB blames Xfinity, Xfinity blames OPB. I’ve gotten nowhere and stopped supporting OPB, which is a minor drop in a vast bucket; but it may be that the show is providing it, but it is not making it through your local provider. Richard Software means never having to say you're finished Web site: www.turner42.com I see a lot of shows in my TV listings showing audio description, but when I turn on audio description, there is either nothing there, or part of the audio is missing from the show, like you will get everything but dialog. I think some channels don't want to be hounded by the FCC, so they say that they are providing audio description, when they are sometimes not. ----- Original Message ----- Sent: Saturday, June 12, 2021 11:12 AM Subject: Re: audio description Yes, Netflix, Disney, and Amazon Prime is starting to add more with description. Great stuff. Richard Software means never having to say you're finished Web site: www.turner42.com And while I am not saying it's a perfect world, I think the fact that just about everything which is released on Netflix and Disney nowadays is audio described is pretty cool. Actually Sieghard, he did provide a link. It is a petition to make all films, TV, etc., with audio description. Not to be a killjoy, but this has been being asked for over many, many years. http://chng.it/tXddRCh5v8 Richard Software means never having to say you're finished Web site: www.turner42.com Since you didn't provide any links it would be nice to give a bit more information as to what this petition is all about. I know you say "Audio Description" in the subject, but this is pretty vague. hi. on the blind tech guys google group and some one put up this petition. I just signed and spreading the word. Thanks. http://chng.it/tXddRCh5v8
