simply press alt+h for the help menu, and then A for the about dialog. if there is an update, JAWS should announce there is one as a button, . otherwise, you can tab around to find out what's there.

The updates are supposed to be installed automatically, but sometimes you have
to go to the about dialog to kick it into doing the update.

updates done automatically like with Edge, or do you have to check
