I would suggest you backup and reinstall Windows to start everything fresh. You need not format the HDD, just the SSD where Windows is installed.. Because the software trace is still there either in the registry or some leftover files.
You could also use the reset this PC found in Windows 10 to erase everything and reinstall Windows.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the url to Narator key strokes.

For the multiple versions of Jaws and the error message…I went ahead and uninstalled all versions of Jaws including share compoenents. I also deleted Openbook. I then reinstalled Jaws2021.

Still the problem exists with Jaws crashing multiple times a day. I cannot update the intel drivers as I get the message my laptop will not accept them. My laptop with windows10 is only 2 years old. Wonder if I need to back up the hard drive and then reformat the SSD drive, hard drive and then reinstall everything. Jaws support is not much help.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

1st here's a link to the Narrator keystrokes / commands:

Personally I've never heard of the error message you received.  Have you tried rebooting  your computer again?  The only thing I can think of that might have happened when removing J18 is that it unauthorized all installed Jaws versions.  When you uninstalled J18 did you happen to uninstall, Shared Components?  If you uninstalled the shared components then I could understand this happening, but since I've never experienced this problem I don't know what sort of message would be received.

Stay safe and take care.  Mike.

Subject: Multiple versions for Jaws

Hello, For the last month or so Jaws 2021 has been crashing. FS support has given me many suggestions of how to correct the problem. Nothing works. I mentioned that I have Jaws 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018 and Jaws18. They told me to uninstall all versions and reinstall Jaws 2021. Yesterday I uninstalled all of Jaws 18. I didn’t uninstall any other versions. I turned on my laptop this morning and Jaws2021 didn’t load. I went into Narrator and the message on the screen said Jaws needs to run with inspect. Therefore I need to contact FS sales. Okay what did I do to cause this problem? Will uninstall all other versions and then reinstalling Jaws2021 work? I tried to do a repair on Jaws 2021 and I got the same message. I hardly use Narrator. Does anyone have short cut keys to use Narrator?

Thanks, Kevin
