Hi, Zel. I don't think it is your computer specs. That being said, there is no JAWS 19. They stopped designating JAWS versions with two-digit version numbers with JAWS 18. The next JAWS version was JAWS 2019. We are now at JAWS 2021. Have you tried installing JAWS 2021 in demo mode, and checking if JAWS still crashes in your large documents. With all the changes made to Windows 10 in the last two years, as well as the changes to Office, it would not surprise me if portions of it are far enough out of date that JAWS might crash while running Office, especially if it is Office 365. My recommendation to you is to try JAWS 2021, even if you don't have a licence for it. That way, you can rule out an out-of-date version of JAWS being responsible for the problem you are having.

Subject: Advice reading, navigating in, and writing in complex Word files please?

Hello all,

I have big documents with tables to write in and checkboxes to tick. When I’m working in these files, Jaws really slows down and often crashes.

It doesn’t matter what computer I use, I still have the same problem. I have an HP Pro with Intel Core i7 8650U, 8GB DDR4-RAM, 512GB SSD, Radeon RX540 2GB Graphics, 14" Full HD Display,

I’m using Jaws 19.

Does anyone else experience this?

If so, how do you get around it?

If not, is this a problem with my Jaws or computer specs?

I look forward to hearing from you and take this opportunity to wish you all a good weekend.

Warm regards

Zel
