Hi.

The instructions that were given aren't for Outlook. I can't remember how to
do it, but there's something in Outlook itself to check for updates. I'd
like that information as well.

press windows+i.
tab once, arrow to and spacebar on Update and security.
tab once and windows update should already be selected, if not, press
spacebar to select it.
from here, just tab until you find a check for updates button.

however, you can create a check for updates shortcut on the desktop

press windows+m to get to the desktop.
press control+space to unselect the item you maybe on.
press the application key or shift+f10.
up arrow to and right arrow on the new submenu.
arrow down to and enter on shortcut.
paste the following as the location to open:

ms-settings:windowsupdate

press enter, type a more descriptive name such as check for windows updates
and press enter.

the advantage here is that the checking is automatic. just wait to find out
if any updates show up.
