Hi, Tom. I just tried importing Internet Explorer settings into Google Chrome. I was able to perform this action without any problems. I suggest the following,
1. Uninstall Google Chrome.
2. Open the User folder on your Windows OS drive.
3. Go to your UserName, Open the folder, and open AppData.
4. Look at the Local, Local-o and Roaming folders within AppData.
5. Find a folder called Google within one or more of these three folders, and delete it.
6. Reinstall Google Chrome.
7. See if this clears up the problem.
Windows fails to clean up folders where data is stored, and because files are left behind, a simple uninstall sometimes fails to correct the problem.

These are the steps that worked for me previously.
However, now, after I select “import from Internet Explorer” from the combo box containing Microsoft Edge and other options, I get kicked out of the import wizzard and can’t find the “import” button.
Once again, the frustrating thing is that this strategy used to work just fine.
If someone wants to give it a try on their end, please do so, and let us know how you do.

To import IE favorites into Chrome, open Chrome and press alt-F, followed by B to get to the bookmarks menu, then scroll down to the Import Bookmarks and Settings option and press enter to open it. Then just follow the prompts. Google will create a submenu under Bookmarks called Imported From IE which will contain a list of all your IE favorites.
