My e-mail alert does not even play when the first new mail arrives, and the option for this is checked, which means the sound should play. The only thing I can now figure is that somehow, the volume for my Outlook 2010 inbox is not enabled, and I'm trying to figure out how to get to that.
Kind of frustrating for sure.

I don't know about Outlook 2010, but I am using Thunderbird and the sound only plays when the mailbox is empty and the first email arrives. If there is already email waiting it will arrive silently until the mailbox is emptied.

My sighted wife checked, and the option to play the e-mail received sound is checked, but still no chime sound when a new e-mail is received in Outlook 2010.

Hi, again, folks.
I'll try to make this my last question for today on configuring Outlook 2010.
How do I get the program to send an alert sound when new e-mail is received?
I am receiveing e-mail here, but don't get the usual sound indicating that, and I'd like to enable this feature if possible.
