Hi Dan. Thanks for the reply.

I have been off the grid for the past 33 hours. I am a long-long time user of Norton. Most of the time as a sighted person, but for at least the last 8 years as a fully blind user. Their software does a great job of protecting my PC from 'bad' things happening, and when they included a password manager in their product a few years ago, I remained a very happy and loyal customer. Their software is not accessible friendly, but live with it by having a sighted volunteer assist. I am not familiar with the function you are talking about, but will call Norton Help Desk and hopefully get a good, workable solution from them. Thanks again. Ken

Both are good just depends on the depth of comfort and features you need or want. Norton is like the Lexus and I don't think you need to abandon them. Nortons should have a place where you can tell it to ignore files and or programs each and every time they are executed. Norton's is doing its job but sometimes it gets over zealous. Look around your program and find the place you can exclude files from being labeled as trojans or malware. I use Norton Security for security, password management and more. I just can't forget about Norton and install Defender. I have a lifetime of work at stake. Is anyone at The Sparrow engaged with Norton to correct this bug? Please lower my blood pressure! Your, and others, help is appreciated. Ken p.s. If there is any truth to your statements, I am very happy that I have been ignoring the upgrade message I am a SMA subscriber. -----Original Message----- From: main@jfw.groups.io <main@jfw.groups.io> On Behalf Of Tony Sohl Sent: Friday, November 13, 2020 11:50 AM To: main@jfw.groups.io Subject: JAWS 2020 and virus software Hi for people who are having issues with JAWS 2021 and virus software such as Norton and Mcaffee, there is a solution to this problem! Apparently, from what I'm reading in the thread, the virus programs are treating JAWS like it's a Trojan ,malware or a virus. The software removes JAWS. Once they are removed, enable Windows defender and this should solve the issue. Hope this helps. -- Sent from my Windows 10 HP
