Dear Listers:

Recently I listened to a Freedom Scientific
archived webinar from last year that talked
about using JAWS with Google Calendar. I have
decided I want to try to learn to use Google
Calendar but every time I go to
calendar.google.com JAWS starts speaking to me
in a foreign language. When I called Freedom
Scientific Technical Support they told me
several other people had had the same problem
and said it had something to do with Google
settings. I went to my Google account, signed
in using Facebook, found Settings, and when I
checked to see what language was the default
language it showed English United States, which
is just the language setting I thought I
had. Then after discovering that the default
language was the correct one I got out of my
Google account and opened up Google Chrome,
which is my Internet browser, hit the Alt+L
keystroke to open up the addressbar, entered
calendar.google.com, and hit the Enter
key. When the page loaded, here is what was on it:

I am sending a “cc,â€&#65533; of this message to
Vispero Support with the hope that either one of
you or one of them will be able to put a finger
on what is happening and possibly tell me how to
rectify this problem and have Google Calendar start speaking in English.
