Unless you have a really, really old version of Office, Word itself has been able to read in PDFs and save them out as MS-Word format it you so choose.  Many don't bother saving the converted result, but prefer to read the PDF in MS-Word.

The conversion is not always perfect, but it's generally pretty darned good if the PDF is not an ancient image-scanned PDF.
