Briefly, there are two conventions of blind people in the US. Both are virtual this year. It costs $25 to register for the American Council of the Blind convention, while registration for the National Federation of the Blind convention registration is free. Note that my knowledge about all this is rather superficial, nothing says there won’t be other costs once you delve into it. Both conventions will have some technology focus.

What do I do to be part of the virtual convention?
While we’re still here, I would like to invite you to visit jw.org. There you will find answers to many questions such as: Why do we suffer? Does God care about me? How can I find true happiness? What is the key to a successful family? These and more are available on jw.org in over 1000 languages free of charge. Would you welcome a Bible discussion? I’m more than willing to chat.

I don't believe that Vispero is actively planning on phasing out SMA purchases because the home annual licenses are currently only available for personal use. Many users continue to rely on the JAWS Professional license which continues to offer SMA options.
As of now Vispero hasn't announced specific discounts on specific products for the virtual conventions but they have indicated that such discounts will be available for virtual attendees. Because specifics have not been announced all we can do at this point is speculate on what may be offered. If it's going to be like last year's offerings there were discounts on home annual licenses. If memory serves you could even get a 50% discount if you attended Eric Damery's session. My guess is that similar offerings will be made available for this year's conventions but I admit this is just speculation.
