Hello,

I have some steps you can use regardless of which browser you are using.  This works in Windows 10.  I do not know if it works in earlier versions of Windows.  This works for all sorts of things to send to your desktop like folders, documents, or even a commonly used email address.

Go to your desktop.  Press control-space bar to deselect anything on your desktop.

Press the applications key or shift-10.

Arrow up or down to new and press enter.

Arrow to shortcut and press enter.

You will be in an edit field.  Type or copy/paste your web site URL.

Tab to next button and press enter.

On the next screen give this a name and tab to finish.  Press enter.

I hope this helps.

Barbara

Hi!

I am using Windows 10, JAWS 2019 and Firefox.  Unlike in IE, Firefox seems not to have the “Send Shortcut to Desktop” command.  I use to have an extension called something like “Deskcut” in my Firefox, but apparently it became deprecated and was automatically removed.  So, is there any easy way natively within Firefox, or a good extension for, sending a link to the currently viewed website (i.e., its URL) to the desktop?

Thanks,

Richard
