Moderated Re: JAWS and Webex

Marty,

I think Zoom is  more accessible for sure.   I don’t know anything about the WebEx free versions, as I’m using it from my company’s subscription.   Let me see if I can find keystrokes to it.    The meetings I attend on Webex come in two forms.  Either we get just a link and  the only way to ask a question is in the chat window; this is most common with very large group meetings where only a few speakers are allowed to talk.  The other version is where we get a link and a call-in number.  I often just call in to meetings, since I don’t care about the visuals, but you can use the speakers and microphone in your computer or have the website call you at a number, too.  This second format allows anyone to mute or unmute themselves.  A moderator can mute everyone to start the meeting, hopefully reducing background noise.

If it helps, I think I heard that part of the issue with Zoom security is more in how it is used.  If you send the link only to people that you want to have it and not post it, that reduces the number of potential crashers to your part.  What I read was happening was that people are posting Zoom links on social media and then anyone can get to it.  Our church is using it for meetings and only sending the link to those invited to the meeting.

Let me see what I can find on WebEx keyboard.  Tab and F6 are the most commonly used keys to navigate. I still find it clunky, but that could just be me.

Robin,  I was using the free version of Zoom, but there seems to be some security issues with that platform.  Are there scripts for Webex?  What are the limitations with using the free version, such as meeting time limits or member participation?  Is there a way to raise your hand with a key stroke?  Thanks for any answers from anyone.

Yes.  my company uses it.  I’m not a brilliant Webex user, but I may be able to answer a question.

Are there any Cisco Webex Meetings users here?
