This works in Word 2010 and JAWS 13.0.718.

Select the word you want to look up and press shift+F7.

Press F6 until you get to research edit and you hear the word that you
selected in your document.

Tab down once to the start searching button and press space bar.

You will hear thesaurus English .

Tab down once, you should hear thesaurus English outline expanded.

Arrow down through the list of words.

When you find one you want press shift+F10 and select insert and press

Press escape and you will return to your document with the new word pasted
in as a replacement.
