2. Press and hold the Left Panning button while simultaneously powering on the display. Connect the Focus to your computer using the supplied USB cable, and the display will be recognized as a removable USB drive.

No, you cannot download a book from the iphone to the braille display. Maybe some day they will write an app for such, that's what it would take.

Yes, I have heard there was a key combination to show the braile display as a drive, do you know what the combination is?

As long as you put it in the booksfolder. No reason to pull the card, though; there is a keyboard combination you can use while you turn on the display to have it seen as an external drive. That litttle card isn't all that easy to deal with directly.

Hi,

Thank you for this. I used the instructions someone provided earlier to read via the mobile app. I would like to download the whole bible and read it with my braille display. If I take the SD card and put it in my computer, can I take that file and bring it back to my braille display and read it in scratch pad? Thank you.

Marlo,
Is it a file with a .ZIP extension?
First you have to unzip it and there should be a BRF file, and you should put that into the Braille display.
It should have an SD card to copy it into, and then find it via the file menu of the Braille display.

Hi,

I would open the file with wordpad and silence the synth so it isn't
blabbing on and on while you are trying to read.

That's what I used to do anyway. The one problem with this approach
is you won't be able to mark your place unless you actually insert
something into the file. I used to write three asterisks and the
words stopped reading here. That way when you open the book again
you will be able to easily find where you left off reading.
