The strange part is, it didn't start doing this until a couble
days ago. I have Automatic Updates turned off. The only thing I know of that I
have running besides JAWS is Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Defender.
Other than that, when I look at MSConfig, I find some programs in there that I'm
not familiar with what they do. Which programs should I have running at startup
that won't eat the CPU power? You might try disconnecting from the internet and see if that solves it.
You are asking for major problems if it is connected to the internet since none of the important software is supported at this point.
Best of luck,

I'm running Windows XP 32 Bit on an old Dell Optiplex GX520.

Annabelle Susan Morison Hi, it's Annabelle. Has anybody had this happen to them? I know this may be off topic, but this strange thing just started happening, where Outlook 2003 seems to think my CPU power is maxed out at 50% which makes the fan spin faster, and I'm wondering if maybe I should dust the inside of my machine with a Datavac. This has never happened before, and I know that I've been running outlook 2003 with the same Spamaid addin, so I know it has nothing to do with that. I tried turning off Microsoft Security Essentials, thinking it had something to do with that, but nothing has changed. I tried renaming "Outcmd.dat", but still nothing has changed. What do I do next? |
