Hi, I found some scripts online, called OneNote blind, but I wasn’t able to install them on my machine, because a dialog told me I couldn’t. What happened to cause this? There were no details, just a close button. Thanks,
Jessica

But this is Microsoft Office we are talking about! An Office product which is widely used across employment. How much more core could this be?

David, I get your frustration, but I also think JAWS developers need to focus on the core products used by a majority of users. I could argue that Microsoft Project and Visio are mainline products that JAWS should support, but I also understand that it would take a lot of development hours to serve a small group of potential users of such visually based software. Far better that JAWS development focus on stability and features of mainline software. Let those who have the know how and time develop scripts for less commonly used software. You can’t get everything for free and companies have to choses were to spend development hours to meet the most needs. Now, maybe Microsoft Narrator development will serve One Note.

As I understand it Jaws “out of the box” has never been able to work properly with One Note. For this reason someone in employment needs to buy 3rd party scripts to make them productive with One Note. This is especially the case if they are using Jaws without sight. I agree that it is not defensible for VFO to require their Users to purchase third party scripts to make such a main stream Microsoft product work effectively for employees. It is a bit like requiring people by scripts to enable access to other parts of the same Office suite like Word Excel or PowerPoint. Scripts are a powerful extender to access with Jaws but should not be required for widely used mainstream employment products like Microsoft Office and the increasing used One Note. They should come with Jaws. Scripts should be reserved / needed for vertical specialist employment software. Having said that if you are employment now then I think you probably have little choice but to purchase scripts and the associated training to boost your productivity and protect yourself. One example of the scripts at least are on. https://www.hartgen.org/bhonenotewonder David griffithSent from Mail for Windows 10

Hi, When using onenote, jaws won't read the sidebar. I'm not even sure how to get to the sidebar.
Has Freedom scientific given a training on this topic? If not, they definately should.
Thanks, Jessica
