I have had no problem editing a spreadsheet with any version of
jaws. Sounds like system specific issues or an improper setting
in excel options.

I think installing NVDA is a good idea, and jaws 2018 isn't a
bad backup option either.
My spreadsheets work in Libra office with J 2019, but if I
want to use Excel, I have to drop to J 2018.

Hi,
I was using jaws2019.
I could also install NVDA, which I may
do.
Thanks,
Jessica
I think it would be better to
install Jaws 2018 and have it handy in case this happens
again.

,
No, still didn’t work.
Should I completely uninstall jaws and
reinstall?
Right now, I have to use narrator to
edit this file.
Thanks,
Jessica
Did you try hitting escape when
it opens up?
I know that in word, that
allows editing.

Hi,
No, it is private.
How do I know what setting needs to
be changed?
Thanks,
Jessica

If you are ok with this send me the
file and I will see what is happening.
Send to me off list, please.
Hi,
So, f6 didn’t work.
I toggled scroll lock and still
nothing.

I,
No messages, using office 365 and
jaws2020.
I’ll try fnf6.
For me, f6 by itself its mute.
Thanks,
Jessica
It all depends on why you can't edit it. If it is
protected, you have to turn that off. Another thing
I've found that made things get really weird is if you
accidentally have scroll lock turned on, in which case
it might seem like you can't edit because moving the
cursor around doesn't seem to do anything.
Do you get any messages about protection when you open
the spreadsheet, have you pressed f6 to see what might
be going on in the other areas? Btw, what version of
office are we talking about here?

I have found that Jaws 2018
works better in my spread sheets than Jaws 2019
does.
I experience that same problem
using 2019.
