No you can’t do that in Windows 10. There is no Send To Desktop option.
You have to Open File Location, then Shift+F10 on the file, then Send To, then Desktop Create Shortcut.
In Windows 7 you could do it, but not 10.

To create a desktop shortcut you can highlight the item you want to make a shortcut for and then press shift + F10 then N then down arrow to send to desktop as shortcut. Sometimes you have to look around since MS likes to change the menus in ways that hide things. smiley face
She stated that both the windows key and the windows + S bring up the search box she just cant type in it. This has been an ongoing issue for years and will be fixed again for those that are having issues.
