Richard, for some reason your last two messages to the list have come through twice.

I am no longer getting the shut down anyway. I've had my wife look, and after a very short couple of seconds, it just sits there saying shutting down.
I've waited several minutes until I have to just power it off.
But, this never happens if I'm running narrator at the time of shut down.

My laptop shuts down on its own as well after a block shutdown message.

try waiting a few seconds longer. many times with my windows 10 it will pop up a non talking message to force a manual shutdown. after about 5 seconds it will shutdown on its own.

If I have Jaws 2018, or Jaws 2019 load at login and after login, when I go to shut down or restart, the operation is blocked and there is nothing I can do other than power down.
I only had one version loading of course, but I tried with each separately.
If I use Narrator at login and after login, I can restart or shut down with no issues what so ever.
Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, how was it resolved?
