moderated Re: jaws does not work properly in admin command window

That is not how I understood it. I know this may not be the original message, but at one point he said :

At least with version 1809, jfw will not read anything in the command window if run as administrator.
If I virtualize the window, I see the text, but other wise nothing -- jaws cursor reads nothing

He says "Jaws cursor reads nothing" and that is not my experience or that of many others.

Sieghard

The original question was why isn't it reading it automatically...

It will, but you might not want to listen to it like that, especially if the output is long. I know I don't. The JAWS cursor gives finer control over the output.

You shouldn't have to use the JAWS Cursor; JAWS will read it automatically.

I want to be able to use powershell, so I am not sure what you mean, the only thing I see in properties (using powershell) is one checkbox to toggle legacy console features. However, my problem appears in both powershell and regular cmd.

You can do this in CMD properties.

Hi. At least with version 1809, jfw will not read anything in the
command window if run as administrator. If I virtualize the window,
I see the text, but other wise nothing -- jaws cursor reads nothing
as well. Tech support says its not supported, but that makes no
sense to me and Narrator reads it fine.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
