Hi, Mario. When you "run" a file, you are running it online from Freedom Scientific instead of having the file yourself. If there should be a glitch on the Internet, you may end up with a file which did not install correctly.

Another reason you want to keep the JAWS installation file on your computer, even after installing it is, when you need to repair JAWS, you need to run the exact version of the installation file you used to install JAWS. If they update JAWS, and you don't yet want to update your version, you won't be able to repair your copy of JAWS on your computer.

No, this is not correct. I always download the latest update from
Freedomscientific.com, and click on the installation file in the
downloads folder.
