Re: Notepad++ and Jaws

I think you are right about the verbosity setting. And, strangely enough, Jaws stopped speaking the status bar after each letter and I did nothing to change any settings. Must have been gremlins.
I will say that when I check the status line with insert+page-down, it reads very confusingly. I wrote two words which took 10 characters and when I checked the status line manually it said: Normal text file length : 10 lines : 1 Ln : 1 Col : 11 Sel : 0 | 0 Windows (CR LF) UTF-8 INS If you ignore the words “text fie length” it makes sense. I think I might try the trick of doing a dictionary entry that blanks out those words. Otherwise, this seems pretty good for editing the html files I have already created, which is what I do mostly now.
Thanks, Richard

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the verbosity setting is only for JAWS messages, I thought, and wouldn’t affect something like this?

I actually have have verbosity set to advanced because I cannot stand how chatty Jaws is. I will do some digging around in the settings this weekend when I should have some time. Thanks, Richard
