Re: installing scripts for Goldwave
Mario
as I have done, pressing alt+down arrow opens the list of choices and
you can use the up or down arrow to make your choice, but then you need
to close the list with alt+up arrow before you can preview the result.
quite tedious and impractical. it seems the scripts aren't compatible
with JAWS 2018 or above. I wish I had a contact email address for Jim
Bowers, as I understand that he, not Jim Grimsby, is the author of the
scripts. if Bowers is not willing to work on modifying the scripts for
JAWS 2018+, I wish some smart scripter would make his/her own scripts
and make them available for others to use free of charge.
I discovered that Brian Hartgen has a past Goldwave course that includes
freely available scripts but the scripts aren't available to download
them separately from purchasing the course. but it is not clear if the
scripts that he offers are the same as the scripts from Jim Bowers. and
if the scripts are the same, I don't know if Hartgen would be willing to
fix or attempt to fix this problem.

Hi Mario,
Well, the scripts on my windows 10 machine are in the program data
folder like my Windows 7 at work.
However, here at home on Windows 10 running Jaws 2018 and the latest
goldwave, Jaws does not speak the numbers as I arrow up or down in the
filters.
I have to hit insert+up arrow to read the line.
This is true in lots of places with the latest Jaws 2018.
I think it is a Jaws issue and not a GoldWave or Goldwave Scripts issue.
Any ideas?

yes, do let me know. it would be interesting if it would be different,
but I'd think it wouldn't.

I have Windows 7 Pro here at work.
I'll double check the path and scripts at home where I have Windows 10 1809.
Did you take the scripts out of the other location? Not sure that is
needed, but who knows.

hi Richard, when I copied the scripts to the location that you
specified, ran GW, opened an audio file and tried to select an effect
preset, JAWS would not speak as I arrowed down. closing all windows, I
removed the Goldwave4 scripts, tried GW again, and could now arrow to
the preset.
were you using Windows 10 or 7? I think there may be some very subtle
differences depending on which OS is running.

My scripts for Goldwave are in:
c Program Data, Freedom Scientific, Jaws, 2018, scripts, enu
I have both goldwave and doldwave4 script files in there. When I press
insert-q I hear Goldwave version 5,6 settings.
I hear the numbers change as I arrow up or down, for example on the
low/high pass settings.

right now, the scripts reside in the user settings/ENU folder:
"C:\Users\Mario\AppData\Roaming\Freedom Scientific\JAWS\2018\Settings\enu"
but I think for JAWS 2018 or later, the scripts need to reside
somewhere else. if so, where do they go and are all of the scripts,
Goldwave and Goldwave4 files, copied?
