nope, Brian's right about that. I recall there was one instance where
navigating to the beginning or end of a Wordpad document sounded a
double ding sound. and JAWS users were wondering why this was happening.
the fix was to disable the topandbottom event to be silenced in quick
settings, due to that Wordpad had it's own topandbottom sound which
could not be disabled because it was embedded and there wasn't a setting
to disable it. but that was some time ago.

I am running JFW 18 and Windows 7 and I have those sounds. I thought
that they were JAWS sounds, not Windows sounds.

Kim,

"Top/Bottom of current window" and "when download completes"
are not standard Windows sounds. Are you certain you didn't have some
sort of third party software installed that was doing this?
