This will be my next step if the problem continues on a regular basis.

Hi Tom. I am using Windows 10 here along with the new JAWS Beta 3. So far, I have not encountered the deactivation problem. I’m wondering if JAWS is not recognizing your computer’s locking code. You could be having that problem. I have seen this from time to time. If you update your authorization, it may resolve it. You can always contact tech support and have them reset your authorization count, if you lose one.

Do you mean after the major Jaws 2019 update in November?
I sure hope so.
At that time, my SMA will need to be renewed, and this, along with some other ongoing issues, is making me start to have second thoughts about renewing.

Really!!
That’s not good!
Does anyone know if FS, VFO/Spero, or whatever they are called now, is aware of this issue?

Yes, likewise and even though I activate JAWS on my personal version at home, it won’t remain activated.
I have just had to revert to a different Screen Reader as I find JAWS unuseable From: main@jfw.groups.io <main@jfw.groups.io> On Behalf Of Tom Behler
Hello, everyone.
This morning, I experienced a very strange problem with Jaws when booting up my current windows 7 computer.
Even though my SMA is current, and I’ve been using the latest build of Jaws 2018 for a number of months now, Jaws came up in demo mode.
I exited out of Jaws, and then re-loaded the program, and I was back in business, but I’m now wondering why this is occurring.
I seem to recall others having a similar issue.
Thanks for any wisdom anyone can provide.
