When you hover over controls it will typically show you if there is a shortcut that is of the form Modifier Key + Single Additional Key. The Word Count control doesn't do that and I'm guessing that it's because CTRL+SHIFT+G (and it is a triple key press shortcut) is a triple key press shortcut.
