Hi,

Windows+Shift+V hasn’t worked for a long time (from what I can tell).

As for why this command is changing: the upcoming feature update to Windows 10 (Redstone 5) introduces cloud clipboard, a way to copy and paste texts and small files across devices. When this feature was introduced in a Windows Insider Preview build, Windows+V was assigned to cloud clipboard, thus Windows+Shift+V is now used to cycle through toasts (this reminds me: I need to make this clear the next time I send out screen reader advisories for Redstone 5…).

Hi, Joseph. Since Toast Notification will be changing from Windows Key plus V to Windows key plus Shift plus V, what will be used to cycle through notifications in reverse order. This is currently Windows key plus Shift plus V. I tried to find out why the change is being made, but couldn’t find anything on it. Could you explain why the change is being made?

The toast notification command will be changing to Windows+Shift+V later this year (see posts on Win10 list as to why this is happening).

Or, for that matter, when Office update notifications appear, do you hear some kind of a notification sound that you would hear when you plug in a USB device? If yes, then press Windows+V and press Enter to activate the notification (this command sequence will be changing later this year).

I have not followed all of this thread, but have you tried shift+f10 to bring up the context menu on items in the task bar?

The quickest way that I’ve found is to use Alt+F within Office to get to the backstage view, then move down to the Office Account tab with Down-Arrow, then use the tab key to move across to the updates control, where you can press a button to install updates.
