Got it, thanks to all who has brought up suggestions. It's for a client that is jumping in to windows 10.

Hi,

Another way of powering down, is press windows key, whilst pressing that press x , this brings up a quick access type of menu with loads of handy stuff like power management , apps and features, control panel etc, but also has shut down options too. You can obviously use the cursor keys to scroll to shutdown , or if you press u it will take you to the shutdown options, pressing u a second time will shut down your lap top, or instead of pressing U the second time, you could press r to reset. It sounds really complex , but in fact its actually pretty fluid and quick once you've done it a couple of times.

Hello There:

Given that ALT+F4, is a Windows command, the command will work for both Desktops and Laptops.

Sincerely:

Hi all, I’m trying to find a way to power down the system within Win10. I’ve
gone to the desktop, and also used Windows X and arrowed up to shut down. I’m
looking for a keystroke that will just go to either shutdown or restart.

Any suggestions?

James
