Hi, Kevin. To get your version of Windows, do the following:

1. Press the Windows key plus R.

2. When you get the “Run” dialog, type winver

This will give you your current version and build of Windows.

My Jaws version is 2018.1805.33. I looked for my version of Windows 10 and I could not find it. If you update your windows you will have the most recent version.

My Jaws version is 18.0.2945 and I’m not sure how to find out what version of Windows 10 I have.  What version of Jaws do you have?

Laura, I had dealt with static issues for a long time. A few weeks ago I found out the April release of Windows10 corrected part of the problem. Jaws told me I had to wait for the next Windows10 update in which there was no date this would come out. At the same time I was talking to Jaws I got the notice to get the most recent Jaws update. I updated my Jaws and it corrected the problem. What version of Windows and Jaws are you using?

Hello,

Using Jaws 18 and Windows 10 on a one year old Dell laptop ……

All of a sudden and out of the blue, the sound in my computer went very static …… This was in all programs.  When I shut the computer down and turned it back on the sound is fine now.

I have gotten notifications recently about updating Dell drivers but have not done this yet …… mainly because I’ve never done this and I don’t know how.  Would not updating these drivers cause a static issue?

Thanks for any assistance.

Laura
