If you type “mail” in the Windows search box and then press Shift+F10 the only options which comes up (at least for me) are Pin to start, Pin to taskbar, Share and Rate and Review. I assume that that is because it’s a UWP app and not a desktop application. However, if you pin it to the taskbar and you then go to it and press Shift+F10 one option you get is to “Create Shortcut”. If you select it Windows displays a message that a shortcut can’t be created here but asks if you want to place one on the desktop. You can say Yes and “Mail – will appear on the desktop, you can rename it to just “Mail” and then unpin the item from the taskbar although if you use it all the time it would be much better having it there in one of the first 3 or 4 spots so you can always access it easily with Windows Key+1 or 2 or 3 or whatever place it’s in on your taskbar.

Hello Mark and others,
If you search for your mail app again, can you possibl send a shortcut to it to your desktop? If so, you can create a hotkey for it using your JAWS software.

Did you check “Recycle Bin”? Sometimes when I have accidentaly deleted shortcutsI find them there. Also, make sure that your system came up on your desktop and not “Guest” as this will show you other icons.
On my desk top and I want it back.
Running windows 17.09 jaws 2018
