In Jaws 18 you have to open a PDF document in Adobe Reader first.
Then use the following layered key command:
Jaws Key+Spacebar followed by O and D
The “O” is for “OCR” and the “D” is for document.
You also have the following choices after you press the “O”:
S = recognize the current screen
W = recognize the current window in focus
C = recognize the current control
Thanks for the quick reply, unfortuently I’m not running jaws 2018 , but I do have the previous version wich is jaws 18, since someone suggested Jaws 18 should have OCR functionality I’ll go check the help documentation for key strokes and see how well it reads a scanned document. if I can get jaws to do the OCR for me and save me spending out on separate OCR software I’ll be a very happy man! Thanks for all the help.
Do you have JAWS 2018? If so, you should already have a built-in JAWS OCR capability.
