detect, which I'm assuming is the same as a paragraph symbol (pilcro)? locate the character for which you want a sound for, press insert+d to launch the pronounciation dictionary manager, press spacebar to activate the add button, tab to and spacebar on the browse buttonn. the default folder is set to, as far as I know, to only C:\Users\<name>\AppData\Roaming\Freedom Scientific\JAWS\16.0\Settings\enu\Sounds\ so, you can either copy the wav files you want to use to the above sounds folder or import them into the sounds folder from within the browse dialog, from which you can choose a wav file. as far as I can see, there isn't a way to navigate to a different folder than the sounds folder. if you know how, do post back to explain how. the rest of the steps are self explanatory. -------- Original Message --------

Quite interesting. You hit add, then tab over to the list of sounds. I'm curious, where do those sound files reside? Are they part of the Windows sounds, or unique to Jaws? I am a developer and often times I have to listen to tongue twisters of punctuation marks, like "left bracket right brace left paren ..." I wish to replace all these parens and brackets with sounds. Is there a way to do so in Jaws? Thanks Tony . |
