Are Apple devices the only ones that can play .m4a files? I know
another thing I'm looking for in a music player is a device with physical

I used to have the old iPod shuffle myself, but moved over to the iPod
touch. It's got a full touch screen, but its smaller than the iPad,
and smaller than any of the newer iPhones, I'd probably say height and
width probably similar to the old iPhone 4s, but a lot thinner and
lighter, it's also got voice over so you can navigate everything with
the TTS. Although to be fair since it is that much bigger still
though than the old shuffle I ended up just putting all my music on my
iPhone and using that instead of the iPod. If you still really want a
shuffle though, you can always look on EBay for a second hand one, or
if you can't get a shuffle on there you could look for the iPod Nano ,
I think from either the 3rd or 4th generation they have TTS built in
to navigate the small display, although you'd best check online first
to check which generation started to support TTS .

All I can recommend would be an iPhone or iPad, which would also let
you subscribe to Apple Music if you wish.



iTunes for PC can also access Apple Music, so you can use it with JAWS
as well as on an Apple iOS device.

Hi, it's Annabelle.

I know this might not be the forum for this question, but does anybody
out there know of any lightweight, blind-accessible alternatives to
the Ipod Shuffle? I currently have an Ipod Shuffle First Generation
which I purchased in 2008, and just recently, the battery dies after
only 1 hour!
Unfortunately, Apple makes it so the battery can't be replaced easily.
Also,
from what I understand, Ipods in general are going out-of-print. This
is such a shame, as the Ipod Shuffle is the most accessible one for
me, as there isn't a touchscreen. If I need to get something new, I
want something that can be compatible with ITunes Music, especially
.m4a files, something that can store lots of music, and most important
of all, something that has an easy way to replace the battery! And, I
hope there's something out there that can plug into my Apple Adapter that
came with the Ipod Shuffle I have.
